The Little Blue Engine

img_9975 (for the grandchildren). When we are on the Camino trail, we walk up the hills and down the hills. Sometimes the hills can be very long and very steep! When we go up these long or very steep hills, we think of the Little Blue Engine. Do you remember that the Little Blue Engine

I pull the likes of you? Indeed not! I carry people, that don’t walk the Camino, and on he went from town to town.

was pulling the heavy load of toys to the children on the other side of the mountain? What did the Little Blue Engine say as he chugged up the mountain? That’s right! I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. That’s what Nanna and Poppy say sometimes when they are hiking up a long steep hill!
When we left this one town, we had to climb a really steep hill. It was about 330 feet – about twice as high as St. Mary’s church steeple. I counted 650 ‘I think I cans’ on the way up that hill. And each step was about two feet. So I think we walked about one quarter of a mile up to the top of the hill.
And when we go down the hills, what do we say? Right – I thought I could, I thought I could, I thought I could, ……
Thanks for saying extra prayers for us! Can’t wait to see you and give you hugs! 🤗
